Where can I use UnionPay card? UnionPay card can be used in 95% of participating merchants instore and online in Australia with UnionPay, across China and 189 countries and regions worldwide making it one of the world's most widely accepted payment networks. More local retailers and outlets are being added to the network regularly so always check to make sure UnionPay is accepted at your favourite stores.
How do I use UnionPay card instore at an Eftpos machine? Open your Bulago app, tap on the terminal and enter your pin to make payment digitally. Physical card will be made available soon.
How do I use UnionPay card online? Enter your card number, expiry date and the 3 digits code provided to you upon activation of your UnionPay card to make payment online only on selected participating merchants with UnionPay.
How do I check my UnionPay card’s balance? Logon to your Bulago app to check your card balance.
How do I get a UnionPay card? You can purchase it through the Bulago App
How does UnionPay card works? UnionPay card can be used to purchase instore in Australia and overseas where UnionPay cards are accepted. UnionPay cards are preloaded with amount of $1,000 for each card order. The purchase amount and charges (if any) are deducted from the card’s available balance. Balance amount or change may not be given merchants for purchases using your UnionPay card. If the amount is insufficient, payment will not be successfully. Merchants may impose their own restrictions on the use of your UnionPay Card, such as minimum payment amounts.
How is my UnionPay card delivered? Only digital card is available now. Your UnionPay card will be activated on your Bulago app after payment is received. Physical cards will be available soon.
How much can I load on my UnionPay card? UnionPay card is a prepaid card with an amount of $1,000 for each card.
How many cards can I order at a time? You can purchase up to 50 cards in any one purchase order.
Is UnionPay card available on Apple device? Not yet, Apple compatible digital cards will be available soon.
Can I use UnionPay card to purchase fuel? Yes, but it is only for payments at the counter at fuel service stations that accepts UnionPay cards.
Can I purchase for a higher value item than my available balance on my UnionPay card? Make payment with the available balance on UnionPay card and for the balance value, you will need to top up any remaining value on the card with cash or other payment method accepted by the merchant.
Are there any situations where UnionPay cards cannot be used? UnionPay card cannot be used for ATM transactions, mail or telephone orders or for gambling transactions or purchases of goods or services prohibited by the laws of Australia and /or the laws of the location where the UnionPay card is used or merchants banned by UnionPay. The cards also cannot be used for recurring payments, direct debit or payment instalments.
Can UnionPay card be used at an ATM to withdraw cash? No, as UnionPay card is a prepaid card.
Can I view my transaction history? Yes, you can view your transaction history on Bulago app under transaction history.
What happens if I need to return an item to the merchant? Each merchant has its own return policy. If a merchant does accept the return of goods purchased with a prepaid card, then the merchant can process a refund transaction and the amount will be restored in Bulago app. However, such credits are not immediately available. What happens if I make purchases in other currency other than AUD $ or in overseas? All transactions conducted overseas will be converted into Australian dollars. Transactions will either be converted directly into Australian dollars or will be first converted from the currency in which the transaction was made into Chinese Yuan (CNY) and then converted to Australian dollars by UnionPay International. The conversion rate used is either: • a wholesale market rate selected by UnionPay from the range of wholesale rates available in wholesale currency markets for the applicable processing date, which may vary from the rate UnionPay receives; or • the government-mandated rate in effect for the applicable processing date. A Currency Conversion Fee is payable by you when you make a transaction on your UnionPay Card in a currency other than Australian dollars. A Currency Conversion Fee may also be payable if you make a transaction on your UnionPay Card in any currency (including AUD) that is processed by a card scheme or financial institution or billed by the merchant outside of Australia. Why would a payment using UnionPay card be declined? There are several possibilities: the amount of the purchase exceeds the available balance the merchant is in a blocked country the type of transactions is prohibited your card has expired you have entered an invalid PIN your card has been reported lost or stolen your card has been suspended or deactivated the merchant does not accept UnionPay cards
Does my UnionPay card expire? UnionPay card will expire three (3) years from activation date or the validity shown on your digital card or whichever earlier. On the expiry of your UnionPay card, any balance that remains after the expiry date will not be available for use and will be forfeited and become the property of the Distributor and Card Issuer. The card will then be declined when presented for use.
